STEM WEEK

P3 used the Paint App to create their own Jack and the Beanstalk pictures. Here they are:

On Thursday P3 had a challenge to make the tallest beanstalk they could using only paper, masking tape and 2 paper plates. Their beanstalk had to hold the weight of 5 pieces of treasure for 30 seconds. The boys and girls chose their own team to complete the challenge. They were very creative with their designs.

Today P3 had fun using droppers and spatulas to mix and add various substances to lemons to make lemon volcano eruptions.

Don’t you think they make the best little scientists ever?

P3 have been investigating simple electrical circuits using batteries, bulbs, switches and wires. They worked collaboratively in groups. Here are some pictures

P3 had a lovely time at The Pierburg Education Centre on Monday. They learned about what plants need to grow and planted peas. They are going to track their growth over the next few weeks. They also had lots of fun exploring the estate.

World Book Day

P3 read some stories about Paddington’s adventures when he first went to Mr and Mrs Brown’s house in London. They then watched the “bathroom” clip. Just look at their faces!!!
P3 had fun this week investigating static electricity. We used balloons, our hair and bits of paper cut up into small pieces. By rubbing the balloon on our hair, we gave it an electrical charge. There was lots of fun and giggles when we made our hair stand on end as our hair was attracted to our negatively charged balloons. Some children had wet from the rain at lunchtime and we discovered that this did not work on wet hair.
We were also able to make small pieces of paper “dance” with our charged balloons too.
Here are some of our pictures:

Children’s Mental Health Week

We gave our partners a lovely relaxing massage.
We enjoyed reading some good books.

We enjoyed some guided meditation and relaxation and spoke about the things that helps us to relax in our everyday lives and how it is important to do so.

Some more massage.

We also read a book about “filling someone’s bucket”. Please ask your child to tell you all about it.

Wednesday 31st January

P3 had fun trying out some yoga today.

The 4 pupils going forward to the Burns’ Competition are:

Kaden Dhinsa, Leon Black, Findlay Wright and Aaron Cook.

Huge congratulations to them and to all the boys and girls in P3 who worked so very hard to memorise and recite their poem. Good luck to the 4 boys on Thursday.

There were lots of tired wee faces on the bus on the way home after their exciting adventures at the museum. I’m sure we’ll all sleep well tonight. 😴

Friday 6th October was World Smile Day. Here are P3 showing their smiles…bet you smile too after looking at their cheery faces.
