French Letter!

Last Thursday, the children brought home a letter about our upcoming French café experience. This is an exciting part of our learning, where pupils will have the chance to practise their French in a real-life context by ordering food and drinks in a café setting.

If you haven’t yet returned the letter, we would really appreciate it coming back as soon as possible this week so we can finalise our plans.

Thank you for your support — we’re looking forward to a fantastic French café experience!

P3 Poetry!

I couldn’t be prouder of all the children who performed their poems over the last two days. Every child put in so much effort, and it really showed through their brilliant actions, fluency and timing. The confidence and enthusiasm they demonstrated were wonderful to see. P3 should be incredibly proud of themselves — they truly were amazing.

Nessy/Sumdog Logins

Today, all pupils have received their Nessy and Sumdog login details. Please check your child’s school bag and keep this information somewhere safe.

You may wish to take a photograph of the login card in case it is misplaced. The card includes the website addresses and your child’s individual login details for both platforms.

We run weekly competitions on Nessy (based on the number of nuggets earned) and similar challenges on Sumdog. Some competitions also run across the whole school.

Primary 3 is the best, so let’s show the rest of the school what we can do! We are excited to see P3 climbing the leaderboards each week and appreciate your continued support in encouraging regular practice at home.

Numeracy Race in P3

In numeracy this week, we have been practising the 2 times table through a fun relay activity. The children worked in teams to answer different multiplication questions, showing great focus and teamwork throughout.

Well done to everyone for working so hard — you were all super and did a fantastic job!

Using Nessy in Primary 3

Primary 3 have recently started using Nessy in school. It is a superb literacy resource, and we are very lucky to have access to it. Mr Brownlie will be getting logins organised soon, which will allow children to continue their learning at home as well as in school.

🎯 On Target with Mental Maths!

We enjoyed a fun darts numeracy lesson this week, using our scores to practise mental addition and subtraction. The children worked quickly and confidently to add on and take away points, showing great focus and number skills.

With some impressive scoring and fast calculations, we might just have found the next Luke Littler in our class! 😄 A great lesson full of learning and fun.

What We Are Grateful for This Christmas 🎄

Before the Christmas holidays, we took time to reflect on what we are grateful for this festive season. As a class, we created a poster where everyone shared something they are thankful for.

The children’s responses were thoughtful and heart-warming, reminding us that Christmas is about more than presents. It was a lovely way to end the term, encouraging gratitude, kindness, and reflection as we head into the holidays.
