A big thank you to all who managed to come to the Harvest Assembly on Friday. We are all very, very proud of the Primary 3 boys and girls, as I’m sure you must be too too. They did amazingly well! Thank you for helping them learn their lines and songs. Thank you also for all the kind donations too. I’m sure everything will be much appreciated.

Well done to everyone who completed the Lighthouse Research task, we had a very informative afternoon as the children became the teacher and presented their work to me and the rest of the class. All of the questions we asked were covered. A lot of hard work has gone into the research, thank you very much.

Here is a copy of the PowerPoint that was on display at the Meet the Teacher event last Thursday. Thank you to all who managed to attend.

Open Afternoon

Homework will normally consist of literacy and numeracy/maths activities and sometimes a topic/shared learning activity.

P3 children will be given a ‘Work At Home’ jotter which should be kept in their school bag and brought to school EVERY day.

This jotter can be used for homework tasks or for any extra practice which the children or yourself feel that they need.

Once we are up and running,  P3 children will have their choice of a library book from the school library according to their Accelerated Reading ZPD number.

These books should be brought to school EVERY day.

Once they have carefully read their library book, the children can do a reading comprehension quiz either in school or at home to check their understanding of what they have read.

P3 may also choose a book from our class library. They might choose a book that is tricky for them to read and so might require your help reading it or for you to read it to them. Have fun enjoying this precious time together sharing a book.

Homework: week beginning 5th October 2020 – Williamsburgh Primary 2 Blog

Some tricky words will be sent home for your child to learn. Please help them to read and spell these words. They will have periodic check-ups in class of these words and different ones will be sent home as required.

This year our P.E. days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please bring appropriate footwear and wear your gym clothes (leggings, joggers, shorts with school polo shirt) on the above days if you want. Labelled gym kits can be left in the P3 cloakroom to save carrying them backwards and forwards. A poly bag is just fine.

Please note: Long hair must be tied up (or bring a bobble to tie it up) and please leave jewellery at home on P.E. days or cover ear-rings. We also have a hall slot on a Friday so children will need their gym shoes then too.
