We have been loving the sunshine ☀️ the past few weeks. We have been using our gross motor skills to climb and build different obstacle courses. We have been using the bikes, space hoppers, balls etc to move freely outdoors. The children have also enjoyed playing with the mud kitchen now we have started to talk about spring and what happens in spring.
As part of our monthly planning we have been exploring spring. The children have shown an interest in farm animals and this has given us the opportunity to explore which animals are born in spring. They children have been exploring and discussing the different names for animals and their offspring including pig and piglet, chicken and chick etc. We will continue to explore this further after the holidays.
In the construction area the children have also been building farms using their creativity and imagination through the use of loose parts😊
In the art area the children were given the chance to mark make with paint. They painted a still life object of some beautiful daffodils 🌼
We have briefly discussed the Easter celebration. We have been watching videos on the Promethean board to help us understand what happened to Jesus and explore why we celebrate with Easter eggs.
