This week in the indoor environment we have continued to explore our topic of internet, space 🚀, focusing on the solar system. We have been using technology, the internet as a research engine to fact find about space and the solar system. As part of a large group, we watched a video about the solar system and different facts about the planets that make up the solar system. The children know that planet earth is where we live 🌎. We discovered that the solar system is made up of 8 planets. These are the different types of planets that make up the solar system: 1.Mercury 2.Venus 3.Earth 4.Mars 5.Jupiter 6.Saturn 7.Uranus 8.Neptune 🪐🌞✨

“Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun” Jax.

“Jupiter is the largest planet” Akira.

“Saturn is the one with the rings” Daisy.

“The rings are made of ice” Evie.

“Mercury is hot and yellow” Jaxon.

If everyone can please bring their boat into the ECC by Thursday 14th March where the children will test their boats to see if they float or sink and the distance their boat travels. This also links in with learning from this week as the children have been creating their own boats outdoors in relation to the story ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’ by Julia Donaldson who is our author of the month📖 📕.

We look forward to seeing everyone’s boats 🛥️ 🚤
