This week in the creative area the children have been creating their own patterns in the playdough. This was then extended into printing their own patterns using paint and natural materials. Most children have been interested in colour mixing with the paints, mixing primary colours to determine what colour they will make. The children shown good sharing and turn taking throughout.

O u t d o o r s –

This week in the outdoor following from children’s interests the children have been exploring sea life. Researching using fact books to fact find the different species in the sea and what features are associated with the sea- shells, stones, the coral reef.

“The ocean is very delicate and the coral reef sometimes disappear”

“Is there water inside the shell I can hear the sea”

The children then looked at the different patterns on a sea shell and how they feel to touch them, using descriptive words throughout. Some children created their own beach in the outdoor area.

We have a child in the ECC and their sibling in the primary school who have both finished their treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and to celebrate this amazing milestones, Mauchline PS and ECC held a ‘Bell’ party to commemorate them finishing treatment and ringing the bell. We are super proud of the resilience and bravery they have shown. September is Go Gold for childhood cancer awareness month, and Leukaemia awareness is Orange 🎗️🧡💛Everyone was invited to wear these colours to support and celebrate this achievement. The full school were involved in a guard of honour to commemorate the amazing achievement of both girls. Both the ECC and P3 enjoyed a party afterwards to celebrate.
