Thank you very much to everyone who filled in the questionnaires during our Maths Open Morning last month.

I have collated all your responses below along with the actions we have taken.  As always please contact the school for anymore information or questions you may have.

You said……

  • It would be useful to know what apps you use and if we could get a parent login.
  • Some online activities for home.
  • More maths sheets would be good for home.

We did…

  • We have added a Numeracy Family Learning tab on our GLOW Look out for links to useful websites for games or more maths worksheets.  Staff may also paste useful links on their class page.
  • The children have been sent home logins for the sites we use in school.

You said……

  • It would be beneficial to have more open days for parents.
  • More days like this as it’s helpful to understand more.
  • More open mornings like this.
  • More of these days to see children in class.

We did…

  • We have a Literacy Open Morning planned for Wednesday 16th November.
  • Look out for more open days in Terms 3 and 4.

You said……

  • More information on the activities for adults.
  • Explain for adults. Can be confusing for adults.
  • There’s normally not enough info on what the children have to do.
  • Maybe step by step guide of how to use the methods.

We did…

  • Look out on our new Numeracy Family Learning tab on GLOW for some step by step guides on some of the Number Talk Strategies the children use in class.
  • Remember to check your child’s class page on GLOW for information on any home learning tasks.
  • Mrs Schendel and Miss McLean will hold Maths Family Learning Afterschool Clubs every Tuesday in November from 3pm – 4pm. Check the GLOW blog for more details.
