SLC 2

January Overview

Literacy

In literacy we will be continuing with our individual targets on our ILP’s. This month we will have a focus on Scottish language, looking at Scottish poetry and phrases to link with our Scottish topic for Burns Day. We will also be taking part in a mini topic on Room on the Broom to link in with our imaginative writing targets.

Numeracy

In numeracy we will be continuing with our individual targets on our ILP’s. For topic maths we will be looking at measure and using instruments to measure things in our environment whilst also exploring measure language and comparing items using specific words such as longer/shorter, heavier/lighter.

All my other learning

Our topics for January include a Scottish topic where we will learn about Scottish words, where Scotland is in the world, and facts about the life of Robert Burns. In health and well-being, we will be focussing on healthy diets by looking at making healthy/balanced meals. We will take the time in this topic to prepare some food for ourselves and have the opportunity to make and try new things.
