SLC’s Captain Tom 100 Challenge

We have been invited to participate in the ‘Captain Tom 100 Challenge’ to celebrate Sir Tom Moore’s amazing achievements and raise funds for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.  This will help so many children receive specialised care from exceptional medical professionals.

All SLC pupils and staff will be set challenges based on the number 100.  These will range from walking 100 steps to running 100 metres!  We could try to keep quiet for 100 seconds, or count to 100.

You can join in with us at home too by setting your own ‘100 Challenge’.  Choose a personal target or set one as a family – do it your way!

We would appreciate your donations to support such a worthy cause.  Our fundraising page can be found on ‘Just Giving’ by following the link.  Please leave some encouraging words for our young people s they embark on the challenges ahead!

Thank you, have fun!

The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch

We have been reading The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch in class. In the story Mr Grinling tucks into a delicious lunch each day. But Mr Grinling isn’t the only one who enjoys the tasty food, so his wife has to think of a way to stop the greedy seagulls from stealing the lighthouse keeper’s lunch.

We made sandwiches and decorated biscuits to take on a picnic lunch. Thankfully the seagulls didn’t manage to steal our food.

SLC 2 and 3 Easter Activities

The children in SLC2 and SLC3 enjoyed a wide range of activities today. They participated in Pin the Tail on the Bunny, Egg and Spoon Races, Scratch Art Creations, Easter Cookie Decorating and of course an Easter Egg Hunt. Please enjoy this short video which shows what they were doing.

Have a safe and fun vacation 🙂
