Over the past 3 weeks, we have been working with a COACh (Curriculum Outdoors Attainment Challenge) Leader from East Ayrshire. We have been developing our Literacy and Numeracy skills, as well as promoting positive Health and Wellbeing, by participating in a range of outdoor activities. Last week was ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’. This year’s theme was Growing Together and children were participating in activities encouraging them to consider how they have grown and how they can help others to grow.
To help raise awareness, we had an ‘express yourself day’ on Thursday 10th February. Children were able to wear their favourite colour, a range of colours or a whole unique outfit to express how they are feeling.

Following the feedback we received about our online Learning Journals, we have made a guidance video for parents / carers. Please click the link to view the video.
This will allow you to access your child’s learning. You will be able to view photographs and examples of their work. There is also the opportunity to upload your own photographs from home.
Your child has also been issued with a QR code version of this video today at school. Please check school bags and scan the code if you find this easier.
If you have never logged in or haven’t for a while, please check your inbox as your log in has been resent this afternoon.

As part of International Lego Day we worked together to make some super models. We made a working marble run and a mansion house.
To celebrate International Lego Day we took part in a range of activities connected to Lego. Our writing was to design and describe a Lego character. We also had Lego challenges and worked through design problems. We used Lego bricks to help us with our counting or subtraction sums. SLC1a had lots of fun and watched a little bit of the Lego Movie while we worked on our Lego models in the afternoon. To see some of our photos click the link below.
