Scots Celebrations

We celebrated Burns Day with a variety of class activities and tasks.  From learning poems, to completing arts and crafts including creating our own tartan.  At the end of the week, we celebrated with a party where we practised Scottish dances and listened to Scottish music.

Communication Champion of the Week

Our communication champions of the this week this week are;

 

SLC1a – Kolton Sweeny for good engagement with our speech and language teacher.

 

SLC1b – Brooklyn Duffy for communicating his feelings with little support from adults.

 

SLC2 – Katie Quinn for speaking confidently to adults.

 

 

SLC3 – All of SLC3 for attending the Scot’s celebration at Hillside.

Rights Respecting Pupils of the Week

Our rights respecting pupils of the week  this week are;

 

SLC1a – Harper-Lea Climie for great engagement in our Scots song.

 

SLC1b – Murray Smith for participating in Scottish dancing.

 

SLC2 – Euan McLeod for showing great enthusiasm in P.E..

 

SLC3 –  Jackson Stewart for reading along with class novel in Scot’s language and enjoying the challenge.

Zoolab

On Tuesday 16th January, all SLC classes had a visit from Zoolab.  Eilidh, our Zoolab Ranger, brought along some animals and it was very exciting!  The pupils listened well and asked excellent questions.  We had a lot of brave children – and adults – who touched and held some of the animals.  We had a great morning!

SLC1a – Harper-Lea Climie for being a great line leader and being very responsible, supporting her peers.

 

SLC1b – Voi Brown for offering to use his own time to blow up all of the balls in school.

 

SLC2 – Tyler Saunderson for making good choices to be responsible and helpful.

 

SLC3 – Jackson Stewart for being responsible during the fire drill.
