Our communication champions of the week this week are;

 

SLC1a – Josh Withers for using his friends name when playing and to check she was okay.

 

SLC1b – Joseph Reid for reading a story to his peers.

 

SLC2a – Cameron McCutcheon for working well with Mrs Wallace sharing good ideas about his dinosaur book.

 

SLC2b – Reino Berndtson for using ‘thank you’ in context.

 

 

SLC3 – Megan for communicating well with a wide range of staff and visitors.

Rights Respecting Pupils of the Week

Our rights respecting pupils of the week are;

 

SLC1a – Emil Ahern for thinking of others when making a list of outdoor toys for SLC.

 

SLC1b – Voi Brown for making positive choices when upset in the playground.

 

SLC2a – Caiden Russell for sensible conversations within the class.

 

SLC2b – Luke Harrison for taking part in activities at Hillside.

 

SLC3 – Harry Clapperton for helping to give his views and opinions on school life in school.

Fairtrade Friday

Friday 12th May marked the end of Fairtrade Fortnight where we learned about the importance of encouraging people to switch to fairtrade products so that farmers and workers overseas can protect the planet and safeguard the future of some of the UK’s favourite foods.

As part of our Rights Respecting Journey,  SLC participated in  ‘Fairtrade Friday’ by having a breakfast together in each class.  The pupils were encouraged to look for the fairtrade symbol on the products.  To view the photographs, please click on the link.

Rights Repecting Pupils of the Week

Our rights respecting pupils of the week this week are;

 

SLC1a – Josh Withers for being responsible in the corridor and reminding peers to walk and praising those who did.

 

SLC1b –  Voi Brown for sharing ideas on ways to improve our school and engaging in the group discussion.

 

SLC2a – Calon Blacklock for learning to communicate his feelings better.

 

SLC2b – Tyler Saunderson for showing kindness and good manners.

 

SLC3 – Tyler Millar for contributing well to rights respecting votes and choices in class.

 

 

 

SLC Coronation Celebrations

On Friday 5th May, SLC held a garden party to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.  We participated in a range of activities and games within our playground and wore red, white / blue.  Our families and friends were invited along too to help us celebrate.  A great afternoon was had by all!  To see some photographs of the event, please click the link below.

National Superhero Day

On Friday 28th April, the Supported Learning Centre participated in National Superhero Day.  We were invited to wear hero clothing and costumes to school and took part in different activities based on superheroes in our classes.  Click the link to view some photographs.
