Nature Walk – Thursday 17th September 2026
On Thursday 17th September 2026, P2F and P2/3 went on a ‘nature walk’ around the Barony Campus. The children have been working on ‘Scotland’s Wildest Wonders’ in their interdisciplinary topic which includes animals, nature and their habitats. They paired up and looked for all the wonderful Scottish wildlife that is right on our campus! Take a look below…

Literacy
In literacy we have been working on our spelling, reading, writing, listening and talking. We are also reading Fantastic Mr Fox as our class novel and using this as a prompt to help include adjectives in our writing. Take a look at us practicing our spelling words, playing common word board games and describing a monster in story writing.

Numeracy
In numeracy we are focusing on Place Value. We have been working on our number formation, counting using a dot-to-dot, playing board games, completing ‘cut & stick’ activities and having fun with numbers on the interactive Smartboard.

Our P.E. days are on Wednesdays and Fridays.
On these days if you could please send your child to school with their gym kit and leave jewellery at home it would be much appreciated.
We are currently focusing on basketball for our P.E. sessions. Take a look at us in action!

Interdisciplinary Learning – Scotland’s Wildest Wonders
For our first topic we have been looking at the amazing nature and wildlife we can find here in Scotland. We have looked at the diverse habitats animals and insects live in and created simple food chains and webs – discussing the meaning of the words ‘producer’, ‘consumer’, ‘prey’ and ‘predator’.
