January Focus- Scotland (16.1.26)
Our focus this month is on Scotland and scottish culture- poems, songs and art. The children have been learning all about Scottish tartan and creating their own using the art skills of painting with colour, creating patterns using straight lines. The children also learned about Thistles as our national plant. They used chalk pastels to complete observational and detailed drawings of Thistles. The children will also be learning all about Scotland’s national poet – Robert Burns. They will also be learning a scottish poem- ‘Roguey Poguey’ by JK Annand. Please help your child to learn our scottish poem at home. Some of the children’s wonderful work is in the gallery below.

We had fun singing the counting to 20 song and then they were involved in lots of fun counting and number recognition activities in our classroom and open area.
