Kilmarnock Academy’s Spring Concert

Our Spring Concert was started in style by the Senior Choir singing “Fix You”. There then followed many wonderful performances from both junior and senior pupils. Included in this was the school’s Advanced Higher class consisting of 18 pupils which is one of the largest if not the largest class in Scotland. Together with one James Hamilton Academy’s pupil many students performed their exam pieces.  A first for the school was a performance on the Glockenspiel by Kyle Sweeney who played “The Entertainer”.  KAs very own band  “The Replaceables” performed a number called “Take a Chance” which was written by one of our 6th year pupils, Zoe Ross.

In a relaxed atmosphere,  the audience enjoyed tea/coffee and spring cakes and the show was compered by our Depute Head Teacher, Mr Howie.

A big thank you to music teachers Mrs Campbell and Mrs Hyslop for all their hard work throughout the year getting students able to performer on stage and also to exam standard.

Thank you also to Mr Campbell , Callum Gibson, Regan Kelly, Jed Montgomery and Kieran McMurtrie for sound and stage crew.

Finally thanks to staff and parents for all their support and pupils for their outstanding performances on the night.
