Players from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra recently visited Kilmarnock Academy to lead a composition workshop with the pupils in the Advanced Higher Music class.  Students participated in a day long workshop where they created a piece of music together, finishing with a recording.  This was followed by a visit to the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock to see the full Orchestra perform.

This experience was an excellent chance to see professional musicians playing in our local area and the class have used the composition techniques they learned in their own composition folios.
