Term 3 2023/2024

 

Numeracy and Maths

This term in numeracy our number focus will be in multiplication and division, learning and consolidating Times Tables. We will be extending our knowledge of this to answer word problems and become more confident with which operation to use.

With Ms Hodgson we will be investigating Measure and Mass, using a variety of resources.

Literacy

In Literacy we will be becoming more confident at using elkonin boxes and correctly diacritically marking our weekly spelling words. During our reading lessons, we will be exploring the feature of non-fiction texts. During January we will be looking more closely at Scots Language and working hard to learn out Scots poem, “Street Talk”, by J.K Annand.

HWB

In Health and Wellbeing we will be learning about our Brain and how it works. We will investigate how important our Brain is to our everyday feelings and emotions.

In PE lessons, we will be developing the skills required to successfully play Netball, Basketball and Football. These skills include passing, moving, receiving, defending and shooting.

IDL

In January our IDL topic is Scotland. We will be developing our mapping skills, locating the major Cities, Towns, Rivers and places of importance in Scotland. We will also be experiment with colour, shade and texture, to create Scottish themed art work.

Later on this session we will be learning about the Egyptians. We are very much looking forward to this topic as it extends across the curriculum. We can’t wait to have the parents/carers into school before the Ester break to showcase our learning.
