This term in numeracy our number focus will be in addition and subtraction within 1000. We will be extending our knowledge of this to answer word problems and become more confident with which operation to use. We will then be transferring these skills when we are using money, looking at calculating totals and giving change.

With Ms Hodgson we will be continuing to learn to tell the time using quarter to/past and minutes to/past. We hope to look at simple timetables.

In Literacy we will be becoming more confident at using elkonin boxes and correctly diacritically marking our weekly spelling words. During writing, our focus will be on writing instructions. We will be making sure we using ‘bossy verbs’ and connectives in these to make our teachers proud! We will be bringing our class reading books home to practice.

In Health and Wellbeing we will be learning about RSHP. We will be continuing to work co-operatively and identify ways which we can be good role models to younger pupils in the school. We will be taking on leadership responsibilities.

In Science we will be learning about germs and sound. We will be carrying out simple experiments in these topics and learning to make predictions about what might happen.
