Literacy & Language

In Term 3 we will continue to learn our single phonemes and will start to learn some joined phonemes. We will also have our new spelling words to learn each week. We will then use our phonemes and spelling words to help us start to write independently whilst remembering to use our finger spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Numeracy & Maths

This term we will start to learn about the concept of addition. We will learn about adding zero, adding 1, adding 2 and then we will start to explore number stories.

We will also explore the properties of 2D shapes.

We will investigate simple fractions and how to share items equally.

To learn about information handling, we will explore how to sort and organise objects and information. We will learn how to display and interpret information in pictograms.

 

Health & Wellbeing

In our Health and Wellbeing sessions, we will be learning about our bodies, how we are all unique and different as well as the importance of hygiene. We will also learn about looking after a baby.

When we are at PE, we will be focusing on possession games. We will be developing our skills in playing basketball, netball, football and rugby.

 

Social Subjects and Interdisciplinary Learning

Our topic for this term is ‘Fairyland’. We will be reading lots of fairytales and having fun taking part in activities related to different stories. We will also receive letters from The Friendly Dragon who will set us challenges to rebuild Fairyland in our classroom!
