EAC Poverty Proof Your Establishment Whole Community Approach

Working in conjunction with One in Five: Raising awareness of Child Poverty in Edinburgh we created a programme of work for schools and services working with children and young people that

  • raises awareness of poverty and how it affects children and young people
  • explores the cost of the school day
  • examines the stigma of poverty.

This film explains why facing up to child poverty in schools is important. You will find insights into tools and approaches you can use that will make a difference to children’s lives. – see below.

Supporting hard-up families

 

In this short, interactive course, you can think about what causes poverty and how people experience the stigma of poverty. You can get practical ideas for what you can do and what your service can do to support hard-up households. It takes about 30 minutes to complete.
