P5 Monday 22nd February 2021

Happy Monday P5,  How are you all feeling today?  I hope that you are well and that you were able to get out and about yesterday when the sun shone brightly and the skies were blue.  It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed a wonderfully long walk.

Today’s activities can be found in Teams > Class Notebook > Content Library > P5 Resources > Monday 22nd February 2021

You will find your Spelling, Numeracy and ICT assignments in each of the different channels in Teams (Literacy, Numeracy and Interdisciplinary).  Open each assignment then complete the work and save your document, upload it back into Teams then click on Hand in your work.

If you are struggling with Teams, please do let me know and I can show you around.   Remember, that there is a presentation in Teams > Files all about Assignments in Teams which is there to help you.

In ICT today, there is a link to click on here which will open up the activity:

As always, if you have any problems, please do let me know.

Phased return – ECC / P1-P3/Keyworker & Vulnerable children

From Monday 22nd February, we are looking forward to welcoming some of our pupils back to school. Our staff are busy preparing for their pupils  return and are looking forward to seeing them. In order to keep everyone safe,  we need YOUR help!

P1- P3 and Keyworker/Vulnerable children  will attend from 9-3pm.The ECC have staggered times, depending on keyworker group ( please see ECC blog for details)

We need Parents/Carers to wear a mask and  stay 2 m apart in order to avoid transmission of the virus .

At the start of the day,

Please drop off between 8.50am and 9am, your child will be supervised by staff in the playground. Please do not congregate in the playground or on the pavement.

Pupils will line up in the usual places.

Keyworker/Vulnerable children will line up in the P7 playground near to the polytunnel.

Interval and Lunch/Playground arrangements, will be as normal.

At the end of the day,

  • P1R will exit via the dinner hall door near the picnic tables. P1 pupils can be collected from 2.55pm.
  • P1L will exit via other dinner hall door. P1 Pupils can be collected from 2.55pm.
  • P2B/P2M  will exit from the usual exits.
  • P3 will exit via the main door

Please remind your child, prior to returning to school of the importance of maintaining 2m distance from their teacher, where possible  and regular handwashing. Pupils need to remain in their class bubble.

The focus of learning for the first four weeks will be Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing.

P4-P7 Remote Learning

Our P4- P7 pupils will continue to engage with Remote Learning  via Teams on GLOW. All pupils should  access their online learning and be encouraged to complete tasks as set by their class teacher.

Please check that your child is completing their tasks and sharing their work with their teacher on teams or via email. There are regular opportunities for them also to meet their teacher through Teams on GLOW. We currently have approx. 75% pupil engaging with online learning set by their teacher.

Please remember to complete our help form if you have any issues, the link is as follows:

please click on the link

Please remember,

  • GLOW works best when opened up through Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
  • P3- P7 – Please encourage your child to go onto Nessy every day,  through Google Chrome. The Secret word is :  TREACLYCRATE They then type in their name to access it.  smiley

We appreciate your support in keeping our pupils, staff and members of the community safe during these challenging times.

Here is a little reminder from some of our pupils about how you can help us all keep safe!

If you have any questions, please contact the main office.

Hello Primary 2B 🙂

This will be the last couple of days for home learning for us as we will be back at school on Monday 🙂 I’m sure you will all be as excited as I am! I cannot wait to see you all and be back in the classroom.

I am putting up one sway with home learning activities for today and Friday. There are a few literacy activities, Education City and some games that you can choose from for maths and Health and Well-being activities that you can choose from too. All activities for each curricular area do not need to be done I just wanted to give you a variety for the next few days.

As always take lots of breaks, email me if you need anything ( jaclyn.baillie@eastayrshire.org.uk ) and join me in the excitement to get back to school next week!

Please click the image below for this week’s home learning tasks.

See you all next week 🙂
