For the attention of P7 Parents/Carers ( 22/23) Residential trip

Dear Parent/Carer,

Before breaking up for summer, we issued information regarding a possible  P7 residential in May next year.    We had planned to go to Inverclyde from 2nd – 5th May, 23 at a cost of £300 per child.

However, we are acutely aware of the current cost of living crisis that is impacting on all households, with no end in sight. We do not want to put additional pressures on families at this uncertain time.

Unfortunately we are not able to subsidise this trip.

As a result, before taking the booking any further, we are coming back to you to ascertain if you feel this is something you would like us to progress or alternatively cancel and make similar arrangements to what has been in place for our P7 cohorts over the last two years, arranging a special day trip for our Primary 7s instead.

In order for us to finalise plans, please complete the form below no later than Tuesday 23rd August.

Please complete the following form:

We will obviously need to consider our next steps regarding this based on the majority of responses.

Many thanks.

Primary 4 – Week ending: 17.6.22

Hello Primary 4 🙂

We have been very busy over the last 2 weeks, doing lots of nice activities and having lots of fun. We had a wonderful day on our trip to Ayr Farm Park (pictures on the SWAY link below) and made a mini book about our trip. We have been finished our sessions with Mrs Millar from Scottish Attainment Challenge team who was helping us with our multiplication strategies. We have been doing outdoor learning for our maths learning about right angles, using directions and completing symmetrical pictures.

It’s the last full week of school this week and we have lots of fun activities planned! We have hope you all enjoy!

Have a lovely week,

Miss Baillie & Mrs Ferguson

P7J Term 4 Round-up

It is hard to believe that next week is our last week of term!

This term has been extremely busy with P7 Personal Research Projects being completed, Sports Championships, Sports Day, secondary school transition days, Jubilee celebrations and with even more still to come!

We all enjoyed the Jubilee party and held a competition in class to design a commemorative plate for the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.  All the designs were fabulous with lots of creativity being shown, however, after much deliberation Lewis was chosen as the winner, with Katie-Leigh and Codey as the runner-ups.

In Science we have continued to learn about flowering plants. Last week we dissected a flower and identified all the parts, learned how plants reproduce with the help of pollinating insects and discovered how plants create their own food through the process of photosynthesis.

We also re-potted the tomato plants we have been growing as they have really sprouted these last couple of weeks and were getting far too big for the seed trays.

This week, we are looking forward to hearing each other’s personal talks, attending Prize Giving and, of course, going to the Zoo!

Let’s hope we have a lovely dry day for our big trip on Wednesday.

Primary 1 – Monday 20th June

Good morning,

I hope you had a nice weekend. A positive start to the week with the sun making an appearance this morning. It’s hard to believe that this is the children’s last full week in Primary 1! Where has all the time gone?

We had a fantastic time at the Farm Park and the Sunshine came out for us.

The Zip Wire and jumping pillows were the most popular activies.

We will be consolidating all of our learning this week. The children really enjoyed their visit to Primary 2 and Primary 3/2. I just need to convince them now that I’m not coming with them!

Have a lovely week,

Mrs Cuthbertson xx
