Primary 2

Good morning, we have had a very busy week back at school and the children have all settled well into Primary 2 enjoying playing and learning with their friends again. At the moment our key focus is settling in and building friendships, co-operating with one another and sharing. We have this week looked at all aspects of safety beginning to renew our understanding of SHANARRI each letter is an acronym and the first letter being s for safety so look out for your children talking about the meaning of the other letters. This is a health and wellbeing programme of work covering a broad aspect of our lives. We have also began our topic for this term which I’m sure the children will love which is Pirates. This should be lots of fun. It has been a very busy and quick week. The children are working hard to support each others learning and form good relationships.

Here are some photos from this week.

Have a lovely weekend.

P4P week beginning 22.8.22

Good morning!

It’s our first full week back and we have been working hard on getting back into our routine in Primary 4. We have completed our first piece of writing all about our summer and used our art skills to design sunglasses to go with it. We created our class charter, with a magic theme, based upon the UNCRC Rights of the Child with all pupils signed by creating their own potion bottles. Our detective skills were used with Mrs Ferguson to complete the missing moji challenge. We had to use the clues to discover the missing moji.

Thank you for all your hard work this week Primary 4 and have a lovely weekend!

P4S Weekly Blog 26.8.22

Welcome to P4S.

This week we have been busy creating a Time Capsule which we will be able to open again in June 2023.  Inside, we have a letter in which we wrote about our goals for P4S and a length of string which is the same length as our height (at the moment).  We were all very careful when measuring our heights and also the piece of string too.  It will be so exciting in June to see if we have achieved our goals and to see how much we have grown over the year.

Enjoy your weekend,

Miss Steedman

P5 Weekly Blog 26th August 2022

Good morning, it’s Friday!!

It’s been our first full week back and we have been really busy getting back into our routine at school. In P5 we have been creating our class charter based on the UN Rights of The Child and have agreed on rules to keep us safe, happy and achieving in class.

We have also created a display to brighten up our classroom and make everyone feel welcome on the first week back. Have a look at our class snapshot and All About Me bunting.

We have been investigating the features of non-fiction books and worked in teams to find and label them in real life examples.

Thank you for all your hard work this week! I hope you have a lovely weekend.

P6: week beginning 22nd August 2022

Welcome back everyone!  I hope you all had a fantastic summer and are looking forward to an exciting new school year.

P6 have been busy settling in and getting used to new routines. We have been doing lots of ‘getting to know you’ activities such as All About Me posters, self-portraits, and friendship bingo!

In numeracy, we have been revisiting times tables, place value and partitioning. We’ve been enjoying playing maths games such as Hit the Button to sharpen up our number bonds.

In literacy, we have been revising common words for our spelling, planning an adventure story and practising our handwriting skills.

On Tuesday, we were excited to work with Miss Gibson on a STEM competition. We had to design a paper aeroplane and test how well it flew. We hope we win!

Wee reminder – please bring  an empty shoebox for Tuesday, thank you.

Have a great weekend!

For the attention of P7 Parents/Carers ( 22/23) Residential trip

Dear Parent/Carer,

Before breaking up for summer, we issued information regarding a possible  P7 residential in May next year.    We had planned to go to Inverclyde from 2nd – 5th May, 23 at a cost of £300 per child.

However, we are acutely aware of the current cost of living crisis that is impacting on all households, with no end in sight. We do not want to put additional pressures on families at this uncertain time.

Unfortunately we are not able to subsidise this trip.

As a result, before taking the booking any further, we are coming back to you to ascertain if you feel this is something you would like us to progress or alternatively cancel and make similar arrangements to what has been in place for our P7 cohorts over the last two years, arranging a special day trip for our Primary 7s instead.

In order for us to finalise plans, please complete the form below no later than Tuesday 23rd August.

Please complete the following form:

We will obviously need to consider our next steps regarding this based on the majority of responses.

Many thanks.
