This week we took our numeracy work out to the playground. We worked in groups and had great fun creating a shop. We sold things like leaves, sticks and pine cones. We had to make price tags and take turns to be a customer or a shopkeeper. We also had turns at playing hopscotch which helped us count on and back. The other thing we enjoyed doing was drawing our own number lines with chalk. We tried to count in 2’s and took turns to find missing numbers. It was great to be learning and playing outside.

Some children arranged them into a symmetrical picture and some sorted them into categories by colour, shape, size or where they came from. We then used the natural resources to count and create a bar chart headed “Natural Resources in our Playground.” To develop our understanding of fractions, we used sticks to create our own equivalent fraction walls. Well done P6/5, great work!
