This week in P5S has been very fortunate because we were taught by Miss Macfarlane, our outdoor learning teacher. We had lots of fun finding mathematical treasure in our playground.

Primary 7s at Hurlford Primary attended their first Transition day to Loudoun Academy. They were all very quiet and subdued for most of the day. They were all split into 6 groups and attended 3 different classes. They attended classes on: anti-bullying, Respect Me by the Campus Cop, and a ‘Welcome to Loudoun Academy’ by Mr Hendry highlighting the key values of the school and the restorative approach they take.
Pupils were very excited for lunch time and to have play time in the Astroturf area.
Ben enjoyed seeing his friends from other schools that he attends football with.
Willow liked the food and liked trying different juice.
Adelle felt she made friends with people from other schools and was really happy about that.
Lee thought the best bit was seeing his big brother.
Kieran really liked getting to see more of the school again and it reminded him of when Hurlford was there as a school.
Hurlford can’t wait for Transition Day 2!!!

The Fairtrade Committee have been in the kitchen this week baking some delicious brownies for our tuck shop on Friday. We used Fairtrade ingredients and worked as a team to follow a challenging recipe.
A special thank you to Miss Steedman, our Star Baker, who helped us to bake these delicious snacks! 🙂

If you would like to have some chocolatey goodness and do something good for charity, please come to our tuck shop on Friday at playtime. Brownies will be 50p each and all the money raised for our tuck shop will be donated to the Fairtrade Foundation.
Thanks, hope to see you there!

The Roald Dahl Club had its last week this week.
Over the past few weeks, we focused on The BFG and creating our own dream jars which showed our hopes, dreams or a made up land.
Well done to the pupils for working so hard and being so creative!
A special thanks to Miss Walley for providing the sharpies and abundance of glitter 🙂
Hope you all enjoyed the club!
