P6 Learning Logs 10.11.23

Hi everyone,

P6 have had another busy week.  Sadly it was our last week at skiing and most kids were sad it is finished.  They did so well!!! A massive thank you to all parents that came to see the kids on the final day!

The kids complete a reflective journal at the end of the week.  We call it a learning log.  This week I have taken some photographs of their excellent work for you to see how we do it.

We had loads of fun developing our communication skills with Lynsey Murphy again this week.  Our hall looked a complete mess when she set us a challenge to work on our communication skills.  We had to explain to a team mate silently how to tell another team mate that was blindfolded how to navigate their way through our hall without touching anything. If we did we had to start at the beginning again.  This was really tricky when 6 kids are all shouting at the same time.  We also had time to play bench ball and remind ourselves what is safe and what is not!!

Literacy this week was a mix of poetry and writing character descriptions.  We discussed onomatopoeia, adjectives and adverbs.  Developing our character we had to think about their appearance, personality, name and age.

In Maths, we looked at fractions, prime numbers and reinforced work on multiplication an division.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Take care,

Mrs Fx

It replaced Cold Weather Payment, from the Department for Work and Pensions and has the same eligibility requirements. Winter Heating Payment does not depend on how cold the temperature gets it is a yearly payment that is paid automatically.

Winter Fuel Payment-Currently for those born before 25 September 1957, with some exceptions, to help pay for heating. Paid annually. You usually get a Winter Fuel Payment automatically if you are eligible and you get the State Pension or some other social security benefits.
