Hello everyone,

We have put the Christmas tree up in P 3-2 and we are taking turns  turns opening the advent calendar. Last week we learned about St Andrew’s Day  and we made thistles and tasted porridge. We also added fruit into  the porridge and loads of the children really enjoyed trying honey in it too. We wrote a story about a Christmas tree  and we have been learning  about safe and unsafe substances and how to keep ourselves safe in different situations.

This week the common words are ;

apples- our, down, off    bananas -was, just ,are   pears- the an is. Remember to practice reading the common words on the card in your reading book.

The new phoneme this week is oy .See how many oy words you can share with a grown up.

In Numeracy we have been working hard on addition and place value of the numbers up to 100 as well as data handling.We can count in ones really well but counting backwards from a number is much harder. See if you can practise counting backwards from 20 to 0 or from e,g 40-30 or 30-20. Counting in 10’s helps us to add and subtract 10 from a number quickly.

Today was gym day so here are some photos( tried to get everyone in !
