It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This week we have been finding out about the meaning of Advent.  We looked at Advent wreaths and crowns and learned that the five candles represent Hope, Peace, Love, Joy and the Birth of Jesus.  After that, we had fun making our own Advent calendars to hang up at home.

For literacy, we have been writing recounts. This week our task was to write about the day in the life of a Victorian kitchen maid.  Some of us even wrote in Victorian style handwriting.

In maths we have been finishing our unit on multiplying and dividing and will be moving on to Fractions and Decimals.  Our tables facts are going to come in very useful!  We have also been learning all about the properties of 2D shapes with Miss Baillie and Mrs Canning.

On Thursday we had our second-last skiing and tubing session.  It was great fun learning how to change direction using the snowplough technique. In the afternoon we learned a new song and all the actions during our Disney Aladdin rehearsal.  We are definitely one jump ahead…
