As a school, we are continually   working hard to raise attainment in Literacy   and Numeracy. We continue to take forward our Big Maths to improve mental agility.  This session, we were delighted that our application to the Scottish Government’s Innovation fund has been successful. The school has been awarded £6600 to take forward a range of initiatives to improve attainment in writing. We hope this will also provide opportunities for Parents/Carers to support the writing process both in school and at home.

readingThe Loudoun Librarian is going to be doing   storytelling sessions, with our P1- P3 classes over the next two terms. She will also be supporting P4-P7 with the First Minister’s reading challenge.  Please continue to encourage your child to read at home. We will also have our Book Fair next term.

We continue to work towards gaining ‘Dyslexia Friendly School’ status, enhancing learning and teaching to support all pupils. We are continuing to   develop our use of Digital literacies within our school, including the use of GLOW. 2 + 1 Languages – we continue to integrate French within our school from the ECC to P7. stemSTEM ( Science, Technologies, Engineering & Mathematics) – P4 and P3 have been working with   Martyn Hendry ( EA Stem Co-ordinator) to take forward a range of projects . P3/2 will work with him in the near future. We are continuing to develop a range of projects within our school.
