Wow! What a busy, hard working and fun week we have had and now we are all ready for a well deserved holiday…only one day to go!
Here’s a summary of our week.
On Monday we worked with partners during numeracy time, giving peer support and consolidating our ability to calculate a fraction of a quantity. Feedback was positive with the majority of pupils saying that working with a buddy was helpful to them. Everyone worked hard during Literacy to write a set of instructions; the focus was on writing a recipe for spring rolls after having made them last week. Then in the afternoon, we focused on Food Fortnight and the journey of rice from farm to fork. This was really interesting to learn about and the class demonstrated their learning by creating a comic strip to show the different stages of rice production.
Tuesday was a reward day in P7 as everyone had been saving up their class currency for the last few weeks to reach a target of £3000 and after plenty of team work they reached their goal. We spent the morning making chocolate and marshmallow Easter cakes and designing and making Easter cards.
After break time, we had a visit from Stacey who works for Love My Bus and she told us all about the benefits of using buses to get around. She was lots of fun and had us playing some games and even dancing around the hall!
Later on in the day, we watched the film Wall-E, which has a great message about the need to care for our environment, and enjoyed eating our crispy cakes – yum!
On Wednesday, we rounded off our work on fractions by completing an end of topic assessment- this was quite challenging as we had to work independently but everyone tried their best. We had WOW in the afternoon and managed to get outside to be active for a while.
Today, it was lovely to head to the church for the school’s Easter Service; it is always so nice when we can do things together. We also had an end of topic quiz to complete based on our topic of China, we completed this through Teams online. Miss Gibson treated the class to an Easter craft this afternoon to round the day off.
Here are some of the wonderful homework creations, from last week, showing tourist attractions in China, everyone was so imaginative and went to a great effort!
Wishing you all a fabulous Easter holiday and looking forward to seeing everyone back to enjoy the final term of primary school!
