P3/2 Term 4 Update

What a busy start to June! There’s been no time to update the blog.

We had our brilliant school trip to Heads of Ayr farm park. Great weather and lots of fun had by all. Our first stop was the creepy critters where the children were excited to see ferrets, rats, mice, snakes, birds, chipmunks and even a skunk. Then on to the bouncy pillows, a favourite for everyone! We then went round to see all the large animals and learned a lot of interesting facts. Followed by playing on the wee tractors and great adventures in the fort before lunch. Then we had time to see the horses on the way to soft play before our last stop in the play park, trampolines and sand pits. I think all the children will have reported back that they had a fabulous time. Great way to finish of the year.

Then the same week we managed our first successful sports day since covid struck. A big well done to all the children who took part. It was quite daunting for some of the children and they did well to race and have fun.

On top of all the extra things this term, we’ve carried on with our Literacy, Numeracy, topic on Transport, French and Health and Wellbeing work.

Hard at work learning about multiplication, doubles, subtraction and place value. We finished off our block of learning with our visiting numeracy teacher Mrs Millar with a rotation of ‘fun maths box’ activities which the children did really well with.

Outdoor learning is enjoyed by all in p3/2

We had some fun with punctuation activities outside, including a few games and challenges.

In our Transport topic, we’ve been learning about vehicles on the road and vehicles that travel in water. We’re creating a fabulous wall display of vehicles and the children wrote super poems about cars. In our last week, we’ll be looking at vehicles that travel in the air and possibly emergency vehicles if there’s time.

A busy week and a half ahead as there’s so much left to do and so little time but as always, we’ll have fun! If you have a school chrome book at home, please remember to return it as soon as possible.

Have a good week,

Mrs Miller
