Good morning, I hope you have had a lovely weekend. Last week we had some fun doing gym outdoors and had lots of fun in the D zone. Fingers crossed we have some more sunshine this week and lots in this busy last term. Can’t quite believe we are now in term 4. One of the topics you will be hearing about this term is magnetism so please keep a look out for anything magnetic at home or when you are out and about.

Language for this week

Nemo – diagraph ow like the word snow not clown.

Common words – to read, write and spell are blue, best, number and other

Dory – diagraph ea like leaf not spread

Common words – had, see, has

I will also add some new Education City tasks and remove some that we have had on for a while now.

Please continue to share reading books at home and I will shortly issue some new word lists to learn,  to support reading this term.

Maths for this week

We are working on the understanding of money just now in maths, which is forever evolving due to society using more and more cards, if possible if you can find some time to share with your children coin collections reinforcing what they look like and make different monetary values using a variety of coins. if you can please look at Topmarks money games like Toy shop and The coin cruncher. We will also be looking at partitioning numbers to support this work in class for example 58p is 50p and 8p but then the children need to think about what coins make 8p such as 8 x 1p, 4 x 2p, or 5p 2p 1p.

Thanks for your continued support and enjoy playing shops with money or looking for magnetic items.

Mrs Carey
