Well done Primary 6, we have made it to Friday and we have all been working very hard.
We are really enjoying our new topic on Space and this week we have been learning about the Universe. It was difficult to get our heads round the vastness of space but we did a good job of using higher order thinking skills to discuss the Universe and answer some tricky questions. We have also been learning about the different types of galaxies ; did you know our planet is in a spiral galaxy called the Milky Way? Today we were looking at pictures of star constellations and we made our own pictures using marshmallows and art straws…sticky but fun!
Our maths focus has been multiplying and dividing whole numbers and decimals by 10 100 and 1000. It was quite easy in the end as long as we were careful with the place value!
Yesterday we read more of our class novel ‘The Last Wolf’. In it, the main character Robbie meets an orphaned wolf cub. Our writing task was to predict what was going to happen next and continue the story. We all did a great job and enjoyed reading our work to our peers.
We are still doing well with our Aladdin rehearsals and have been practising our last big number – ‘Prince Ali’. There’s a lot to remember but we’ll get there!
