If so, please contact our Financial Inclusion Officer. There are some provisions, and services that could give advice and support if you struggle with gas/electricity supply etc.

  • Child Winter Heating Assistance- an automatic annual payment where a child/young person has high rate care on either Disability Living Allowance/Child Disability Payment, or enhanced daily living component of Personal Independence Payment.
  • Cold Weather Payment- Automatic payment for people on certain types/levels of benefit entitlement when average temperature over a period of time is zero degrees Celsius or below over 7 consecutive days and can take account if you have had a baby or a child under five lives with you.
  • Warm Home Discount– Gives money off your electricity bill, or if your supplier gives you both gas and electricity, money off the gas bill. It is a payment for those on Pension Guaranteed Credit or certain others on low income who meet the criteria through your supplier.
  • Winter Fuel Payment-Currently for those born on/before 26 September 1955, with some exceptions, to help pay for heating. Paid annually. You usually get a Winter Fuel Payment automatically if you are eligible and you get the State Pension or some other social security benefits. If you are eligible but do not get paid automatically, you will need to make a claim.
