P6 Week beginning 6th December

Friday again, what a quick week.

We have been very busy this week working on lots of activities.  In literacy, we planned and wrote a diary extract from a Victorian character’s viewpoint.  We enjoyed reading our work out to our peers.  For our talking and listening task, we created interview questions to ask a Victorian working child about their job.  We had fun acting out our interviews and taking turns to be the interviewer and the interviewee.

In Numeracy and Maths, we learned how to record fractions in two different ways and in maths we explored the properties of quadrilaterals.

It was our final skiing and tubing session on Thursday.  Most of us enjoyed the chance to ski on the big slope.  Although it was scary, we all made it safely to the bottom.

We are still working hard with our Aladdin rehearsals and are really good at the first three songs.  Miss Frew and Mrs Wilson were very impressed with the quality of our singing.

Next week, we will be focusing on the meaning of Christmas, who the real Santa Claus was and learning about Christmas in Victorian times.
