Good morning!

We are aware that many of our children are at home this week doing remote learning.

  • P1R and P1L will have daily posts from their teacher: Mrs Carey and Mrs Cuthbertson.
  • P2M will have daily posts from their teachers: Mrs Muir and Mrs Miller
  • P4 will have daily posts from their teachers: Mrs Ferguson and Miss Frew

If your child is at home, here are some remote learning activities for your child to enjoy:

Check out Lockdown live lessons each day:

Get writing today with My Amazing Diary…

Who or what will inspire your pupils’ diary entry? They could write a recount about a lockdown experience or a day in the life of their favourite person, or they could write about an imaginary event like a trip to the moon or their best day ever!

Go onto Nessy Reading and Spelling each day:

P4-P7 Check out Number rock on Youtube

If you are looking for a fun way to help your child at home with maths, the YouTube channel “Numberock” is a fantastic resource.
The channel focuses on maths songs which are fun and engaging and more suitable for P4-7. They cover a range of maths topics from times tables to measure. To find it, just go onto youtube and type in “Numberock” and the channel should come up.

P1-P7 Phonics activities:

Throughout the school, we approach spelling by investigating phonemes (or sounds) and this approach is used from P1-7 as well as looking at spelling rules and patterns.

BBC Bitesize have a list of short video clips that would allow pupils to hear the sound and have short exercises after listening. The videos would be most appropriate for P2-4. To access them, copy and paste the link below or google search “BBC Bitesize ks1 phonics”. I hope this is useful!
