Good morning!
Can you believe there’s only 2 weeks left of school until Christmas!? Time has flown by this term.
Home Learning Tasks
- Literacy– Practice your reading books! You’re doing great. Just for fun this week, can you read the story starter and continue the story? It has a Christmas theme and I am looking for good punctuation, amazing adjectives (at least 3-5!) and 2 different connectives. I’d also like you to try and vary the length of your sentences eg some long and some short.
- Maths– On Friday we spoke about probability and used words such as unlikely, likely, impossible and certain to describe the probability of something happening. Let’s practice some more! Try this game called “The Vile Vendor“. You can google search it by typing in “Vile Vendor Game KS1” or here is the link: http://www.scootle.edu.au/ec/viewing/L118/index.html#
- IDL– We started to look at our new topic which is all about electricity. We looked back in time at important scientists and focused on Benjamin Franklin. He discovered lightning was electricity. Can you tell someone at home some information about Benjamin Franklin? We also looked at where electricity comes from and know it can be really dangerous. Go to the website “Switched on Kids” and have a go at the electrical safety in your home game. Here is the link to the website: http://www.switchedonkids.org.uk/
