We looking at the last part of our Food and Farm topic this week and going to start some Christmas crafts and activities. Thank you to everyone that brought in the farms. They all look AMAZING! In the lead up to Christmas I thought it would be nice to have a cooking challenge. Last week the class got the cress that they grew home. We talked about some ideas for the cress. Maybe you could make something using the cress. Our thinking task last week, set by the Fairtrade committee was to look at the ingredients and flavours used in gingerbread treats. The class designed a gingerbread man and were given the extra challenge of making gingerbread men and women at home using fairtrade products.

Education city – I have added homework this week called “week beginning 7.12.2020” The activity is a playlive game. This can be played against others in the school or anyone. You answer the questions as best you can in 60 seconds. Remember we are still practising our subtraction so do not worry about the time and try your best! I’ll keep this live so that you can use it as much as you want!

Spelling – we have been looking at the “oy” phoneme this week. Practice your phoneme words and your common words at home. Use the grid below for ideas.

Red – enjoy  royal  annoy  toys  loyal

said  big  could

Green – joy  boy  toys  enjoy

said  big  could  have

Blue – lip  log  let  leg

the  I  in  it

Have a fantastic week! Feel free to practice our Christmas Party songs at home – Cha cha slide, superman and Hokey Cokey we have practiced so far 🙂

Miss Baillie
