P6P Week Beginning 2nd November 2020

Hello P6P,

We have made it to the end of another great week.

This week we wrote more spooky stories. Many of us managed to use lots of adjectives and wow words to create a really spooky atmosphere. Macy also shared her story with the class – it was spooktacular!

We have been having lots of fun in PE. Kilmarnock Football Club have been football training with us and we have been practicing dribbling, passing and shooting. We are looking forward to the next couple of weeks as we work towards playing in a mini class tournament.

We have also been looking at observational drawing in art, exploring line, tone, texture and pattern with our pencil. After lots of practice with our pencil we created bonfire night scene drawings incorporating the features line, tone, texture and pattern.

Finally, we have been learning about Remembrance Day. We coloured in poppies that have been sent home to display in our windows. We also created a large poppy as a class to display on the classroom window.

HOME CHALLENGE 09/11/20

This week for your home challenge I would like you to practice more with line, tone, texture and pattern in preparation for next week’s art activity. Can you explain what each of these features are to someone at home and draw a picture to go with your spooky story from this week? Remember to add all of these features, thinking about the feeling of the things you are drawing and shading areas of light and dark as we practiced in class.

Have a relaxing weekend,

Miss McLeish 🙂
