Hello P2B,

We has a fantastic time last week doing our Halloween activities. Unfortunately we did not have time for our jokes on the Friday as we were so busy enjoying our activities. We are going to tell our jokes on Wednesday afternoon so make sure you remember them. On Monday we practiced our Spanish as we learned about the Spanish holiday Dia de los muertos. We will learn about Guy Fawkes this week and make big poppies for our class window on Friday. Make sure to look out for them on Friday after school. The class have got poppies home to decorate and put in your window at home (similar to the rainbows during lockdown) to remember those that fought in the war.

We have been looking at the phonemes “ph” and “n” this week. Here are some words to practice at home. Along with your common words that need to be learned to aid reading and writing.

Red/green – Phil,  graph,  phone,  photo,  dolphin

out,  now,  new

Blue –  pin,  nap,  net,  sand,  hand

can,  we,  into

As of next week reading books will be given out on different days. Try to read the book every night and discuss what the story is about. Please ensure reading books and the home learning pack that p2 were given are in their bags everyday as we use them in class and I will be swapping some things in the home learning pack from time to time. Biff will get their new book on Monday, Floppy will get their new book on Tuesday and Kipper will get their new book on Wednesday.

Home learning task – last week we looked at symmetry and used a mirror to make symmetrical pumpkins. Use any resources you have (for example, sticks, stones, building blocks etc) to make symmetrical pictures. Remember for it to be symmetrical it needs to be exactly the same on both sides. Here are some pictures to inspire your creations.
