P6W: Week beginning 31st August

Hello P6W,

It’s the end of another busy week and I’m sure we’re all looking forward to the weekend.

This week we have been focusing on strategies to help us learn and doing lots of activities on developing a Growth Mindset.  I was very impressed with how we have been encouraging each other to persevere when tasks have been more challenging – well done!  We have also been learning how to use partitioning when multiplying and a few of our pupils enjoyed sharing their methods with the class.  In Literacy, we finished our class novel ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ and we wrote a book review.

HOME CHALLENGE:

  • We are still focusing on multiplication tables so please keep practising the ones you’re not sure of.  The trickiest tables are the 6x 7x and 8x.
  • For taught writing we will be planning and writing a story from a pet’s point of view – have a think about what a day in the life of your pet would be like.  What would they be thinking? What would they say if they could speak? What do they enjoy? What don’t they like doing? If you don’t have a pet, maybe you could chat to someone who does and find out about their pet’s day.

Keep up the good work and have a lovely weekend.

Mrs W
