Wonderful Helpers from Caledonian Bottlers

On Friday (12/5/17) a group of dedicated helpers came from Caledonian Bottlers to Hillside School and spent all day working really hard to get our garden looking fantastic for the summer.

We really appreciate the time and effort that went in to painting, weeding, trimming shrubs and even making a wheelchair friendly planting station.

Fingers crossed we get the good weather back soon to make the most of it!

World of Work Week

Last week, everyone at Hillside had a super time hearing about and trying out different types of work with help from family and friends from nearby businesses.
We had visitors to teach us how to cook, be active and safe to name a few.
Children and young people learned about the fire service, police work and even had a pamper afternoon to relax!

Thanks to family members who came in to find out more about what we do at Hillside to develop skills for learning, life and work.

Drake Music

On Friday, 30th September our senior pupils put on an excellent performance as part of the Cumnock Tryst Music Festival.

For weeks before this group of young people, supported by their class team have been, composing and rehearsing music using soundbeam technology with great support from Matilda at Drake Music.

The rest of the school came to watch and it was a wonderful afternoon of music and storytelling.
