Primary 3/4 we are neck and neck at the top of the Sumdog leaderboard!
Today is the last day of the competition, the competition closes at 8p.m tonight! With a wee last minute push to get those numeracy brain cells working I know we can do it!
We were telling our partner the words of the week and we wrote them in chalk. We checked each others work – James
James and Rory made up a game called “Spelling Tig”
We played a memory game called ” The Farmers Hen has Laid an Egg”
Susan – I liked getting fresh air because it makes my learning better and fun.
Harris – I liked playing spelling tig because I like running games.
Luke – I liked writing the words down and my partner checking them.
Rory – I liked playing the spelling game that me and James made up.
Sophie – I prefer going outside to learn and I liked writing with the chalk.
Max – I liked playing the talking memory game.
We worked in groups to read a passage, identify unknown words and then use a variety of strategies to clarify the meaning of these words.
Today we explored our playground to look for fractions. We created some fractions of our own too. We had lots of fun doing this!
Today we followed a recipe to make salt dough. We had to measure in 1/2 cups and whole cups. We found this easy now that we understand fractions. When our salt dough was ready we divided the dough into 25equal pieces. Everyone got 1/25 th .
We “stepped inside” the characters from our class novel The Secret of the Kelpie” by Lari Don. Working in groups we talked about what the characters would think, how they would feel and what they would do next. We created a book with all our work.

Today we visited Primary 1 to share a Christmas story with them. Our kindness elves suggested we read to a buddy in primary 1 and we all really enjoyed this activity.
