Today we explored our playground to look for fractions. We created some fractions of our own too. We had lots of fun doing this!
L.I- to design and create a model.
We built our own model kelpies from Lego, inter star and card.
Today we followed a recipe to make salt dough. We had to measure in 1/2 cups and whole cups. We found this easy now that we understand fractions. When our salt dough was ready we divided the dough into 25equal pieces. Everyone got 1/25 th .
We are taking part in the inter schools badminton challenge. Today we were improving our badminton skills in preparation for the challenge next month. Our active schools co-ordinator was very impressed with our hand to eye coordination ! We will practising over the coming weeks and fingers crossed we do well in the challenge. Watch this space for results in February.
We “stepped inside” the characters from our class novel The Secret of the Kelpie” by Lari Don. Working in groups we talked about what the characters would think, how they would feel and what they would do next. We created a book with all our work.

We have been learning all about fractions in maths. Today we made shortbread and then cut our shortbread shapes into fractions. We then decided what fraction of the shortbread looked bigger ( and which fraction we would like to eat!)
We even cut our tray of shortbread into 1/14ths so that all the staff could try our delicious shortbread.
In P.E this term we are developing and improving our target skills. We have been using balls and beanbags to improve our throwing, aim and accuracy abilities. We love PE activities and always take part with lots of enthusiasm!
Primary 7 came to help us set up our e-portfolios. We have now been blogging each week with updates about what we have been learning and enjoying at school.
Primary4s enjoyed their party with Primary 5 on Tuesday. They danced, they sang and of course played lots of games!
