We had a great day today visiting Culzean. We learned all about plastic and the effects it has on our environment. We litter picked along the beach and then learned how long it takes for different litter items to break down. We were amazed to learn that plastic never ever disappears completely.
Our next workshop was looking at natural litter and we learned what mini beasts are decomposers. We hunted for slaters, millipedes and slugs and collected them in our magnifying jars.
Thank you to our fantastic parent helpers who came along to help us on our trip.
Rory – I liked catching the decomposers in my magnifying jar.
William – I liked being on the bus and collecting litter on the beach.
Imogen – It was fun when we looked at the tree and there was lots of lichen on it.
James – I liked going in the cave that we found.
Calum B – It was great fun on the beastie hunt.
