P3/4 Active Schools Football Training

This week P3/4 participated in their first active schools football training session with two professional football coaches.

As part of a 4 week block we will be learning and developing our football skills including dribbling, passing, ball control, teamwork and decision making in our journey to become better footballers.

P3/4 Remembrance Day Literacy

This week P3/4 have been learning about Remembrance Day and it’s importance.

Each day we have learned a new piece of information about Remembrance Day and have used this knowledge to inspire us during our literacy activities.

Above the girls are using their spelling words to add colour the poppy.

Above we completed a reading comprehension activity in which we were challenged to find information within a text to help answer a set of questions related to Remembrance Day. As an early finisher we could challenge ourselves to follow a set of instructions on how to make a poppy using recycled materials.

P3/4 P.E. Football

This week in P3/4 we are continuing to develop our football skills with a focus on ball control, dribbling and controlled passing.

Below the pupils are learning to dribble the ball in and out of the cones with control and then once they arrive at the end of the cones they pass the ball back to the next player who will begin their dribbling.

P3/4 Vertical Calculations

This week P3/4 have been extending their knowledge of vertical calculations to identify and solve written problem solving questions.

Pupils could select the level of challenge from a variety of problem solving questions, varying from adding 2-digits to adding three 4-digits together with exchanging and carrying on tens.

P3/4 Climate Change

Today P3/4 explored what it is like to be an ECO Activist and discuss their own thoughts and ideas about climate change.

To spread their ideas on how we can help improve climate change, pupils made ‘Save Our Planet’ posters to spread awareness of the impact climate change is having on our planet and some top tips to improve climate change.
