P3/4 have been consolidating their knowledge of 2D and 3D shape.
We have used our knowledge about the properties of 2D and 3D shape to help construct a variety of shapes using many different materials.

P3/4 Creative Phonics
P3/4 have been learning new phonemes containing the “ch” sound and also consolidating the “y” sound.
We have been using a variety of different strategies to help practice and learn spelling words containing both the “ch” and the “y” sound.
P3/4 Creative Numeracy
P3/4 have been implementing what they have learned in numeracy to help them complete different challenge activities.
We have focused on 3 key areas of numeracy:
- place value
- rounding
- times tables
P3/4 Active Spelling
This week Primary 3 and 4 have been exploring their creative side to help consolidate previously learned phonemes and common words.
We have been using simple everyday concrete materials to form the letters to help spell out words for the phonemes “ie”, “ve”, “igh”, “g”, “y” and “mb”.
P3/4 Class Charter
Over the past few week, P3/4 have been discussing their rights as a child and how we can uphold they rights in the class.
To achieve this we have selected 6 important rights to focus on as a class and the pupils have used their creativity to make our fabulous class charter tree display.
Features of our class charter tree:
- Rights articles displayed in apples
- Pupils hand drawing to represent leaves
- Mindful butterflies and bees

P3/4 Rounding Numbers
Primary 3/4 have been recapping on how to round numbers to the nearest ten by using their knowledge of place value and also extending their learning to round numbers to the nearest hundred.
We have been learning through the use of interactive games such as:
- Rounding to the nearest ten “race around the track”
- Rounding to the nearest hundred “dice rolling bingo”

P3/4 Topic Focus “Save Our Planet”
Over the past few weeks we have been looking at climate change and how it is impacting our planet.
We have explored the works of Greta Thunberg and began to take strides in becoming fellow Eco Activists by promoting positive actions to help us better take care of our planet.
