At Fenwick Primary School, we respect everyone and follow the school values – kindness, respect, honesty and ambition. We think, as a committee, we should:
- respect ourselves and others.
- be kind and nice to ourselves and others.
- remind everyone of their rights and no one can take them away from us.
- make everyone feel safe, welcomed and happy.
- make you feel that you can try to be the best you can be.

During our last meeting, we completed an evaluation of our work over the school year. Here is what we discussed:
Rights Respecting Schools Newsletter
At Fenwick Primary School and ECC, it is important for us to recognise and share how learning links to the UNCRC and children’s rights. Take a look at our most recent newsletter sharing a snapshot of learning experiences from each of our classes.
ABCDE of Rights
The RRS Committee designed posters to share with everyone explaining what the ABCDE of Rights are.
Dignity, Equality and Equity
All pupils have been learning what dignity, equality and equity mean to everyone at Fenwick PS. All classes completed activities and then the RRS Committee collated this into Fenwick PS and ECC definitions.
Committee Meetings
Reverse Advent Calendar
The RRS Committee would like to thank all those who donated to our Reverse Advent Calendar with donations going to the Ayrshire Foodbank.
2019/2020
Welcome to our Rights Respecting School Pupil Voice Committee.
We are very excited to have achieved our Silver Award and we are well on our journey to Gold Award. Our new committee has been elected for this year and we will continue to work very hard to promote a Rights Respecting ethos within our school community. We are proud to be working alongside Unicef to promote the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child within our teaching and learning here at Fenwick Primary.
Our RRSA committee began in January 2018 and since then, we have participated in a whole host of activities to ensure that a Rights Respecting ethos is embedded in our school. One of our biggest projects to date was creating our school and playground charter with the help of our RRSA mascot, Fiona Fox.
