Primary 7 have been learning about Shrove Tuesday and the religious beliefs and traditions behind it.
We discovered that Shrove Tuesday is a Christian celebration that takes place the day before Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent—a time of reflection and preparation leading up to Easter.
We explored how, traditionally, people would use up rich ingredients like eggs, milk, and sugar before the fasting period began, which is why pancakes became associated with the day.
After learning about its meaning and history, we put our knowledge into practice by making our own delicious pancakes. We really enjoyed eating them too!

We are very proud of the leadership roles we have in school. Today our Pupil Council Lead gathered views from every class about their Excellent Lesson discussions in class. She then spoke to Mr Houston to share the feedback from the discussions.

Today we took part in the East Ayrshire School Sportshall Athletics Event. This took place in Loudoun Academy and gave us an opportunity to visit the school some of us will be attending in August.

We took part with enthusiasm, determination and a competitive spirit. Well done to all our fabulous athletes, especially our only 2 boys on the day who had to take part in every event! We were impressed with your stamina!
