Day 3 Breakfast and Morning Sessions

We had an early stay with breakfast at 7.25am. A quick change and then we headed off to go orienteering. We were very quick at this activity and our leader Jack was very impressed with our skills!
We  then headed up to put our harnesses on and get ready to Zip Line down through the woods. We are so lucky with our weather although it can be a wee bit chilly in the morning.
We all enjoyed this activity and we are getting very quick at putting on our  harnesses and helping each other.
A quick change and off for lunch at 12.30.
Lewis our group leader met us and took us to collect wood for our camp fire tonight. Then we did some ‘forest bathing’ and tree hugging before heading to spend some of our money in the shop.

We then joined our next activity which was the Sensory Trail . We had to follow each other and trust each other with our blindfolds on. Mrs Ross and Mrs G  might have been tricking us with a wee few branches rubbing across our faces that weren’t actually there and some “rain” falling on us!
Our next session is Raft Building so we are off to put on our wet trainers and head off to build a raft together!

Day 2
We have had a very busy day and have not been back to our dorm all day! So I am only managing to update our blog now! Sorry!
After breakfast we met our group leader, Lewis, who got us ready for our first activity of the day.
Riley was here too but she seems to have snuck our of these photos!
We started the day off with a Burn walk, we loved this activity and climbed our way up through the burn to the cairn at the top where we placed our own rock. Our feet were absolutely soaked by the end of the walk and a few of us were soaked from head to toe – I’ll let you guess who wanted to put their heads and full body under the waterfall! ??? You can maybe tell by some of these photos …
Next we headed up to the Giant Swing to put on our harnesses and get ready to swing! The weather was beautiful and the views from the top of the hill were amazing!
If you listen carefully you can still hear Mrs Ross screaming!
We then headed down to the dining hall for lunch which was pasta bolognese or vegetable ratatoullie.
After lunch we headed straight to our afternoon activities.
First of all we all took part in the Challenge Assault Course wher we had to climb, balance and scramble and then do it all again as a competition!
Next we went to the Vertical Challenge, which was like doing the assault course again but up and down the way! We are surrounded by beautiful trees and we have lots of fun climbing them, sitting on them or just admiring them!
We then went straight for dinner which we all demolished because we have been so buy all day and were starving! Macaroni cheese or Katsu Curry followed by a Brownie for dessert.
A quick change and off for our last activity of the day – Passport Around the World. Our last activity finishes at 8.30pm and then we will be showered and hopefully straight to sleep!
Today’s verdict from everyone – absolutely brilliant! We love Dalguise!!

Everyone was fast asleep by 11.30pm. We were up and down for breakfast at 7.45 am.
Bacon, hash browns, beans, toast, cereal and fruit – we have all refuelled and we are ready for our burn walk this morning.

We had great fun taking part in Ambush. Lots of hiding and searching for each other.
We have all had showers and sitting together now having a debrief about our day. It’s been amazing fun and everyone is loving the activities and especially the food!
Lights out at 10pm tonight because breakfast is at 7.45 am! So we are up at 7am to start our day!
We will see you all tomorrow!

Day 1 at Dalguise
We have arrived safely at Dalguise and have settled in to our dorms. We enjoyed our first 2 activities which were tree climb and problem solving.
For dinner tonight we had fish fingers and chips or chicken with tomato sauce and chips or vegetable chow mien and a chocolate cookie for pudding – everyone ate a good dinner!
We are getting ready for ambush tonight. The weather is dry and bright.
More photos to follow later this evening with a wee update on our evening activities.
Parents can stop panicking ! We are having fun! 🙂

Today we took part in a whole School Teams Call with the author Richard O’Neill. We learned how he plans his stories and publishes his books. He shared lots of the stories that he has written and let us ask lots of questions about becoming an author.

Our Hero Robots are built and our Competition Field is ready to practise on. We are developing our driving skills to move the sensors on our competition field. Lots of fun and class competitions to see who is the fastest and most accurate driver!

Primary 7 have been exploring angles and learning how to measure and draw them. Lots of fun activities to consolidate our knowledge and challenge our understanding.

Amazing effort in primary 7 today! Fantastic costumes and most importantly, lots of books and reading!Â

We had loads of fun leading our houses in World Book Day activities across the school. Well done to Dunlop who won the book treasure hunt and Fowlds who won the WBD Kahoot quiz.Â
